BUSINESS

This week’s series intermission episode 3, will be taking you behind the scenes to share the invaluable lessons and insights I’ve gained from spending time with billionaires and ultra-successful individuals. This is not your typical episode… It's packed with reflections, practical advice, and actionable strategies that have shaped my own journey.
In this episode, I unpack six transformative lessons, starting with the one thing all billionaires are passionate about, and it’s not what you think. I explore why passion, in the absence of commercial viability, can be destructive and why billionaires rarely focus on being passionate about their product or service and rather remain relentless in their pursuit of winning. I also share how spending time with ultra-wealthy individuals has shifted my perspective. Conversations like the one I had with a billionaire, who considers $50M in revenue “small,” demonstrate how exposure to success normalises it and increases your belief in what’s possible.
We dive into the primary difference in business between the 20th and 21st centuries, highlighting how earlier billionaires matured markets (think Hungry Jack’s and Greencross Vets) while modern-day billionaires disrupt through tech and innovation. This shift presents both unprecedented opportunities and unique challenges for entrepreneurs today. Other lessons include identifying the micro and macro elements in every opportunity, the importance of staying humble and continuously learning to avoid complacency, and how ultra-successful business people manage the delicate balance between business and family life. In the second half of the episode, I share the practical tips and rituals I use consistently, including:
How to stay laser-focused during hypergrowth
Why doing things to learn, not earn, is essential in the early stages of your journey
My "50M dollar exercise" to keep vision and belief clear
The below three practical tips, we didn’t have time for in this episode. I’ll be sure to cover them in another video:
The three questions I ask myself when I’m feeling uninspired
My life thesis: health, time, and relationships
My personal investing hierarchy and how it guides my decisions
This episode is a deep dive into the mindset and habits of the ultra-successful, paired with actionable takeaways for your own growth. Enjoy our special “behind the scenes” series intermission of World Class Voices and be prepared for our amazing Australian Icons to release in the weeks to come.
